A very dynamic storm is affecting the South tonight…severe weather across Florida with a tornado watch until 2 a.m. EST…and heavy snow across Mississippi, Arkansas and Tennessee up into Missouri, Kentucky and Illinois…

Our surface low is east of Gadsden on the Georgia line tonight…colder air is filtering in behind it…

33F at Tupelo with snow…
31F at Memphis with snow…

A variety of warnings across Alabama…
…A winter storm warning for the Central Tennessee Valley, including the Huntsville/Decatur area…up to 2.5 inches of snow…but also some freezing rain possible…
…A heavy snow warning for Northwest Alabama including Marion, Lamar, Fayette, Winston and Walker Counties…and Blount, Etowah and Cherokee Coutnies…two to three inches of snow possible…
…Snow advisory for other counties in Huntsville warning area, including Marshall, DeKalb and Cullman where up to 1.5 inches of snow may fall…
…The remainder of Central Alabama has a snow advisory…for 1.5 inches of snow north of I-20, 1 inch in the I-20 corridor and one half inch as far south as Demopolis, Montgomery and Troy…

Winter storm warnings and heavy snow warnings are in effect for nearly all of NE Louisiana, northern Mississippi and western Tennessee…along with snow advisories further south…

Snow is developing in Central Mississippi…
…a light dusting on the western side of Jackson…this will be the area to watch…
