A tornado warning continues for Holmes and Yahoo Counties in the Mississippi Delta.

Severe thunderstorm warnings continue into Central Mississippi around Attalla, Choctaw, Winston and Montgomery Counties.

Ominously, storms were starting to form over West Central Alabama’s Pickens, Greene and Hale Counties, being drawn back westward into the approching cluster of storms.

The dewpoint at Meridian was up to 58F.

Severe storms are occurring all the way back into southeastern Arkansas and northeastern Louisiana at this hour ahead of the strong upper trough and surface low. Basbeall sized hail was just reported in Morehouse Parish in Louisiana. That is just west of the Mississippi River.

The storms will continue to have the potential to be severe as they move into Alabama after 2 a.m. They are moving just a bit faster.

Stay tuned to the latest weather information through the night in case watches or warnings are issued for your area and be ready to implement your personal severe weather safety plan on a moment’s notice.
