Late Evening Storms

| July 18, 2012 @ 12:02 am

Two areas of storms late this evening:

…One is over eastern Winston County extending down into Walker County near Jasper. Lots of lightning with these storms.

…Over Northeast Alabama from near Scottsboro to Fort Payne. Lots of lightning with these storms as well. The severe thunderstorm warning that was in effect for DeKalb County was allowed to expire at midnight. Winds gusted to 37 mph at the Fort Payne Airport. They are drifting south southwestward and may affect parts of Marshall and Etowah Counties as well as western Cherokee Counties over the next hour.

It would be nice if these storms would hold together but weaken slowly.
