Mean and Dangerous Thunderstorms

| August 17, 2012 @ 3:47 am

As of 3:30 am, the line of thunderstorms has not weakened any. The lightning is still almost constant and the rain is extremely heavy. These storms have a history of wind damage including tree damage.as well as hail. Hail has also been reported.

WHERE ARE THE STORMS AS OF 3:30 AM?

The leading storms are now entering Cullman and Winston County. This means they are within about 50 miles of Birmingham and they may reach the city before the morning rush hour–indeed as early as daybreak.

Those are not the only storms. The Storm Prediction Center has placed North and Central Alabama under a slight risk of severe thunderstorms for today…as far south as about about Montgomery.

Been awake all night and without coffee, no less! Used to it..
