Check out these amazing CoCoRAHs rainfall reports from Mobile and Baldwin Counties this morning.

Rainfall amounts

CoCoRaHS is an acronym for the Community Collaborative Rain, Hail and Snow Network. CoCoRaHS is a unique, non-profit, community-based network of volunteers of all ages and backgrounds working together to measure and map precipitation (rain, hail and snow).

Heavy rain has moved out of Mobile and Baldwin Counties for the most part. But very heavy rain and thunderstorms continue across much of the Florida Panhandle where rainfall rates of 2-3 inches per hour will be likely through the afternoon. Special marine warnings are in effect this hour from Destin to Pensacola.

8.11 inches had fallen at the Mobile Airport.

A flash flood watch is in effect for Baldwin and other South Alabama counties through 7 p.m. for activity that is developing near the Mississippi River and on a trajectory that could carry it back over areas east of Mobile Bay.

A new severe thunderstorm watch was just issued that includes much of the Florida Panhandle, northern Florida, Georgia into South Carolina.

Flooding is reported in the Pace area of Santa Rosa County, FL in the Panhandle. A car was submerged and the driver had to be rescued. Multiple roads were being barricaded.

Bayou Sara in Saraland is going to be in major flood stage. It will crest at 8.5 feet. Major flooding was reported in the Saraland area.
