Weather Going Downhill Fast on Alabama/Mississippi Coast

Water is reported over the Mobile Bay Causeway. Eastbound lanes are closed.

Wind gust of 51 mph reported at Bankhead Tunnel.

Water close to US 90 on the west side of Pass Christian.

Highway 90 is closed in Biloxi due to flooding.

From Alan Gerard at the NWS Jackson: 1st level of the Palace Casino garage in Boiloxi is under water, Popp’s Ferry Causeway completely flooded; south side of Broadwater flooded; Beach Blvd from McDonnel to Acadia and in front of the Hard Rock is closed.

At Southwest Pass winds NNE sustained 58 mph and gusting to 70 mph. Pressure 29.05 (984).

At Main Pass at 2:35: 67 sustained with gusts to 91 mph. Pressure 29.05 (983 mb).

Mississippi Canyon oil platform at 2:15 p.m.: sustained 70 mph with pressure 29.11 (985 mb).

At the Luke Offshore Test Platform 64 nautical miles south of Dauphin Island, winds gusted to 84 mph at 1:50 p.m. Pressure 989 mb.

Station LOPL1 – Louisiana Oil Port – south of Barataria Bay – 67 mph sustained with 92 mph gust. Pressure 29.21 (989 mb).

Brookley gusting to 44. Mobile gusting to 38. Gulf Shores gusting to 45. Pensacola gusting to 39. Fort Morgan gusting to 46. New Orleans N 32 G 41 mph.
