Another Case of Measles on Radar

| September 1, 2012 @ 11:09 am

The image below shows another case of measles on the radar this morning especally in the area of northwest Alabama generally northwest of a line from Tuscaloosa to Anniston. Most showers were moving steadily northeast around 20 mph. As you can see most of the showers are rather small and were not affecting large areas.

Look for afternoon highs to say in the 80 from Birmingham northward while areas to the south which have already received more sun will likely get into the lower 90s.

Precipitable water values on the morning BMX sounding were right at 2 inches, so even the smallest showers could bring some tropical downpours for short periods.
