SHOWERS ENDING: Just a few stray showers are on radar over Alabama this afternoon, and those will end within the next hour or so as drier and much cooler air works into Alabama from the northwest. The really active weather is well to the northeast; tornado watches cover the area from North Carolina north to New England this afternoon.

We note temperatures are only in the 40s over northern Wisconsin this afternoon, and that air will blow into Alabama tonight, bringing us the coolest weather so far this season. Most places will see a low between 48 and 53 degrees early tomorrow, with similar lows early Thursday. Expect mostly sunny days tomorrow through Friday with a high in the 70s tomorrow, followed by low to mid 80s Thursday and Friday. The humidity will stay very low.

OUR WEEKEND: The weather looks dry, despite a cold front passing through Saturday night. The high Saturday will be in the low to mid 80s, but they should drop back into the 70s Sunday with a fresh north breeze. The sky will feature a good supply of sunshine both days.

The dry, pleasant weather continues into early next week.

TROPICS: Tropical Storm Nadine will just loop around the area south of the Azores for a few days, and the rest of the Atlantic basin is very quiet.

WEATHER BRAINS: Don’t forget you can listen to our weekly 90 minute netcast anytime on the web, or on iTunes. This is the show all about weather featuring many familiar voices, including our meteorologists here at ABC 33/40.
