
Midday Nowcast: Another Windy Day with Some Light Rain; The Sky Will Clear Tonight
Most of Alabama continues to see more clouds than sun as wrap-around moisture behind the low stretches down into the South Alabama.
COOLER: Cooler, drier air is rolling into Alabama this morning. Morning clouds will give way to afternoon sunshine; highs will be in the 50s over the northern half of the state, with low to mid 60s for South Alabama.
CLEARING: The sky is sunny over the northern half of the state this afternoon; clouds over South Alabama will dissipate this evening as dry air takes over. Tonight will be fair with a low in the 37-43 degree range.
RADAR CHECK: Rain is still falling early this morning across parts of Southeast Alabama; that rain will end soon and we expect a clearing sky as cooler, drier air moves into the state. Temperatures will hover around 60 degrees for the northern counties, with low to mid 60s to the south.
COOL BREEZE: Cooler air continues to roll into Alabama and the Deep South this afternoon. Temperatures are in the 60s and 70s over the northern half of the state, with 80s to the south. Tonight will be clear and cool with a low in the 40s and 50s.
DRY FRONT: A dry cold front will bring noticeably cooler air into Alabama and the Deep South today. Highs will be in the 70s for most of the state with a cool north breeze. Our coldest mornings this week will come early Wednesday and Thursday when much of North Alabama will dip into the 30s for the first time this season.
A low pressure is tracking east along the Northern Gulf Coast and will keep us cloudy today with periods of rain today and tonight.
