This will be another picture perfect fall day, with maximum sunshine, low humidity, and a high in the mid 70s. Just doesn’t get any better.

REST OF THE WEEK: We have to remember this is still September, and we will see a quick return to warm afternoons. Each day for the rest of the week the high will return to the mid 80s as an upper ridge begins to rebuild across the Deep South. There will be a slow increase in moisture, but with little dynamic forcing for now we won’t mention any chance of rain through Friday. But, we might have to insert some risk of isolated showers late this week at some point.

WEEKEND PREVIEW: A few widely scattered showers are possible Saturday, but with little in the way of forcing/instability, for now it doesn’t look like a widespread rain event. Then, a new surge of cooler and drier air begins to arrive Sunday, and the first half of next week looks dry and pleasant. See the Weather Xtreme video for the details and graphics.

TROPICS: Tropical Storm Nadine is the storm that won’t go away. It is still hanging around over the eastern Atlantic, and could become a hurricane later this week as it continues to meander around in a looping fashion. It is no threat to the U.S. We note that Hurricane Miriam in the Pacific is now a category two storm with sustained winds of 105 mph; it is expected to become a major hurricane later this morning. It will weaken later this week as it approaches Baja California. Some of the moisture from Miriam could impact New Mexico and Texas by the weekend, perhaps helping to bring some badly needed rain there.

WEATHER BRAINS: Don’t forget you can listen to our weekly 90 minute netcast anytime on the web, or on iTunes. This is the show all about weather featuring many familiar voices, including our meteorologists here at ABC 33/40. We will record this week’s show tonight at 8:30 p.m. CDT… you can watch live here.
