Delightful Fall Weather

| October 9, 2012 @ 2:32 pm

**No Weather Xtreme video this afternoon… I am in Madison, Wisconsin at the 2012 National Weather Association annual meeting; I will return Thursday evening**

DRY DAYS AHEAD: Just a few quick notes from the road…. Looks like Alabama’s weather will stay dry through the weekend. Afternoon highs through mid-week will be in the 70s, and a decent chance we see 80 degrees Friday afternoon as an upper high begins to build across the Deep South.

Low 80s are likely Saturday and Sunday as a 5880 meter 500 mb ridge will on top of us. Days over the weekend will be partly sunny, and despite a slow rise in low level moisture, the ridge should keep us dry.

Seems like the next chance of showers and storms will come early next week on Monday.

IMPORTANT NOTE TO ALABAMA FOOTBALL FANS: It sure looks like weather parameters are coming together for the potential for a significant severe weather outbreak Saturday over Iowa and adjacent states. Severe storms could very well threaten the Alabama/Missouri game in Columbia Saturday, so for those making the trip we recommend you take a portable weather radio, or have a good way of hearing weather warnings in the event they are needed. See the Day 5 convective outlook below… Which is for Saturday…

The Auburn/Ole Miss game should be played with warm and dry conditions at Oxford Saturday.

Brian Peters will have a new Weather Xtreme video available early tomorrow morning…
