* 46 is the average high for Birmingham the last 2 or 3 days after experiencing warm 60s on six days in the first half of January and three days in the 70s, Some flowers decided to bloom.
* 84 was the USA high yesterday at Ortona, Fla. It was 83 in Fort Lauderdale and Hollywood.
* 19 below zero was the “Lower 48” low this morning at Craig, in NW Colorado. They have been below zero every night for what seems like over a week.
* 5 was the low at Denver International. They may actually get above freezing this afternoon with about 35.
* 46% is how much of the Lower 48 States was covered with snow or ice this morning, Down from 50% yesterday.
*1070 inches of snow fell at Paradise Ranger Station, Mt, Rainier, in the winter of 73-74. A record.
* 14,410 feet is the elevation of Mt. Rainier, the highest point in Washington.
* 20 inches is the most 24 hour snowfall in Alabama. It occurred during the famous “Blizzard of 93.” It was at Mountainboro located on U.S. 431 between Gadsden and Guntersville in NE Alabama.
* 22 inches is how much snow fell in West Alabama over a span of two days in January 1940. It was at Reform, in West Alabama’s Pickens County, During that big snow and super cold wave, the temperature dropped to 10 below zero after the storm at Birmingham Airport. However, the Airport weather station was not official at the time. There was ice skating on the Warrior River at Birmingport.
* 27 below was the coldest in Alaska this morning at Beaver.
* 79 inches is the snow depth at Whittier, Alaska today. We like to check on that town every day during the winter. Amazing amount of snow. Nome has 44 inches.
* 0 is how much snow Birmingham has received this winter.
* 280,875,452 is how many requests we have received badly wanting snow.
* 0.8 of an inch is all the snow that Boston has received this winter. Only a trace in New York City. It has been a snow-drought winter soo far for those areas.
* 7 hours is how long we will not see or play with Little Miss Molly today. She is at the PBS (Puppy Beauty Shop)
