DRY AIR TAKES OVER: Looks like a classic long October run of dry days for Alabama coming up. Makes it easy to forecast; we just have to figure out the highs and lows.

We actually have some clouds lingering in scattered pockets across the state this afternoon, those will be long gone in a few hours, and we will enjoy sunshine in full supply tomorrow. We begin the day tomorrow in the low to mid 40s, but rise into the low 70s by afternoon with very low humidity.

THE ALABAMA WEEKEND: Sunny days, clear nights for the weekend. The high Saturday will be in the low 70s, followed by mid to upper 70s Sunday. We begin both days with temperatures down in the 40s.

FOOTBALL WEATHER: Look for a clear sky tonight and tomorrow night for the high school football games, with temperatures falling from the mid 60s at kickoff into the cool 50s by the second half of the games.

Saturday, Auburn travels to Nashville to take on the Vanderbilt Commodores (11:21 a.m. kickoff).. the sky will be totally cloudless with temperatures rising from the low 60s at kickoff into the mid to upper 60s by the fourth quarter. Alabama is also in the Volunteer State… they take on the Tennessee Vols (6:00 p.m. kickoff); the sky will be clear with temperatures falling from 60 at kickoff into the upper 40s by the final whistle.

UAB will host East Carolina at 6:00 Saturday evening at Legion Field… the sky will be clear; the kickoff temperature close to 68, falling into the 50s by the second half.

STORM REPORTS: Tornado damage has been identified in a few spots over Mississippi and Arkansas by NWS storm survey teams today. A low end EF-3 tornado path was discovered in eastern Scott and western Newton counties Mississippi. The worst of the damage was in the far eastern portion of Scott County to the west of Conehatta. All of these storms weakened as they moved into Alabama late last night.

AT THE BEACH: Sunny days, clear nights through early next week along the Gulf Coast from Panama City west to Gulf Shores. Highs on the coast will be in the 77 to 80 degree range; lows in the 50s and low 60s.
