A line of storms is advancing across Middle Alabama early this morning.

It extends from near Arab in Marshall County to near Cleveland in Blount County to Trussville…Irondale and Hoover in Jefferson County, onto west of Centreville/Brent…then to near Butler.

hevay rains, lots of lightning, and wind gusts to about 40 mph can be expected with most of these storms. There could be some small hail.

Severe thunderstorm warnings are in effect for Choctaw, Marengo and Sumter Counties. There is even a small peice of Choctaw under a tornado warning for a severe thunderstorm in Mississippi.

A large area of moderate rain covers much of West Alabama. All of the actviity will continue moving eastward through the morning hours.

There could still be redevelopment of storms today until the cold front moves through during the late afternoon.
