Quick Check…

At 715 a.m., our line of storms was progressing nicely to the east across Alabama…from Etowah and St. Clair Counties through Shelby, northwestern Chilton…Perry and on into Marengo and Choctaw Counties.

Severe weather was limited to the southern extent of the line. Severe thunderstorm warnings continue for Wilcox County until 745 and have just expired for Choctaw, Clarke and Washington Counties.

These storms may remain strong to severe as they move eastward through the Selma, Montgomery areas and then over to Phenix City and Columbus.

Further north, there could be some decent hail. Small hail was reported at the NWS Office in Calera when the storms rumbled through.

But for the most part, just a nice Saturday morning rain and thunder event for Central Alabama.

Now later today, there could still be redevelopment of storms in advance of the cold front. With very cold air aloft moving in, there could be more large hail and strong winds with any storms that manage to form, especially east of I-65.
