Rain Moving onto Gulf Coast

| February 23, 2013 @ 2:35 pm

A stalled frontal boundary along the Gulf Coast continues to provide the uplift for persistent showers and thunderstorms along the Interstate 10 corridor this weekend. Over the last few hours more areas of rain have moved onshore into Mobile and Baldwin Counties. Not expecting the rain to make it into North Central Alabama, but some of these showers and storms could impact areas as far north as Montgomery. The majority of this activity will move east northeast along the frontal boundary and stay in southern Alabama and southern Georgia.  The unsettled weather will continue along the coast tomorrow, so if you are heading south make sure you prepare for rain.

Many areas in southern Alabama, remain under flood and flash flood watches today, tomorrow and into Monday.
