What a Difference a Year Makes

| May 15, 2008 @ 6:46 pm | 4 Replies

A year ago today, Birmingham Airport had received a mere 9.68 inches of rain and we were showing a deficit of over 13 inches!

By this afternoon, Birmingham had received 1.82 inches from today’s storms bringing our 2008 total to 24.70, a SURPLUS of 1.87. (We can finalize those numbers later this evening when final totals are available.

So, we have about 2-1/2 times more rain this year.

Not everyone is in that well off. Various locations around the state still have a deficiency of several inches.

Since today’s rain was a (big) (huge) (great) event (choose one) we will post a comprehensive list of rain amounts around 8 oclock tonight. All of the totals should be in by then.
