Storms Sag Southeastward

Melissa Wilson, one of our Skywatchers in Hamilton, reports 1.75 inches of rain with quite a bit of ponding on area roads. Take it easy if you are in the heavy rain areas. 1.06 inches reported in Bear Creek by our Skywatcher there.

Our storms now extend from south of Tremont MS to south of Hamilton to near Brilliant to between Jasper and Sipsey, then back into Cullman County west of Dodge City.

The activity is sinking southeastward slowly. It is moving toward Blount and northern Jefferson Counties.

Significant weather alert just issued for Lamar and Fayette Counties for rapidly intensifying storm near Beaverton.

Flash flood warning for Colbert County.

Look out for deadly lightning, winds gusting to 40 mph, small hail and torrential rains as the strongest storms approach your area.
