Alabama 811 | Know What's Below.

Summertime Saturday Afternoon.

| June 22, 2013 @ 2:11 pm

It is the first Saturday of summer and it is not a bad looking day across the state. Most areas are seeing more sun than clouds and everyone is approaching the 90 degree mark.  Puffy and scattered cumulus clouds are the dominant feature in the Alabama sky today. An east wind today is keeping humidity levels down some and it doesn’t feel nearly as uncomfortable as it could this time of year. We can expect very similar conditions through the evening and overnight. There is a very isolated chance of a shower or thunderstorms this afternoon. Any that develop will be few and far between.

Heading into tomorrow, moisture levels will be on the increase as an area of high pressure slides off to the east of us and will increase our moisture levels as southerly flow takes over. With the increase in moisture our rain chances will certainly be on the rise tomorrow and the next few days. We go from isolated convection to more scattered to end the weekend and start the work week.
