Showers Already in Progress–5:45 am Report

A large area of showers was already in progress across North Alabama early on this Saturday morning.

At 5:30 am, the showers extended from about Jefferson and Walker County north into the Tennessee Valley. This is part of what is left of a line of showers and thunderstorms that moved down from West Tennessee and Arkansas during the night.

The showers are moving SE as opposed to a slow northward movement all day yesterday.

Some of these showers were moderate to heavy early this morning, including part of West Jefferson County northward into NE Alabama.

Showers and thunderstorms will be rather widespread as the day goes on.

Will be a busy day in the Weather Office. Coffee will be very much in demand.
