Wet Weekend Along the Coast

A look at the southeastern regional radar shows a lot of wet weather across southern portions of the state. A stalled frontal boundary across the region and the tropical disturbance in the Gulf are allowing for very heavy rainfall to fall across the Gulf Coast. It is not a good weekend for any activities along the beaches this weekend.

The unsettled weather will last through the weekend and flooding will remain a serious threat across the region. The local NWS offices have numerous flood watches and warnings in effect across these areas.

Currently, the main rain shield is south of the Interstate 65 and 85 corridors. Though it may creep slowly to the north, the main rain activity is lifting towards the northeast. No active flood advisories in the area, but that may change as we head through the day.
