Some Afternoon Storms

Some widely spaced showers and a few thunderstorms developed over East/Central Alabama. One of those was strong enough to prompt a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for these areas:

SE Elmore County
South/Central Tallapoosa County
Western Macon County

This includes the cities of Tallassee and Milstead. It expires at 1:45 p.m. The storm was earlier located about 9 miles east of Wetumpka and moving east at 23.

Some lighter showers were further north over Cleburne, Clay and Randolph Counties.

Meanwhile, well to the NW, a small cluster of thunderstorms over SW Tennessee was approaching the NE tip of Mississippi and the NW tip of Alabama. They, too, were moving SE.
