Weather Notes Around 1 pm

| September 14, 2013 @ 1:04 pm

Just a quick note on a couple of weather topics around 1 pm.

Radar Clean:
For those interested in the weather in College Station for the 2:30 pm kickoff, the latest radar is free of any echoes, so unless a shower were to develop, it looks like the game could be rain free. Latest reported temperature was 91 at noon, so kickoff will be around 93 or 94.

Humberto:
Humberto may be related to the Energizer Bunny. The latest from NHC indicates that the storm has become post tropical, however, Humberto remains a large and well-defined circulation, so it may well re-generate in a couple of days. It is well out in the eastern Atlantic so it remains a threat only to shipping in that area.

Ingrid:
Ingrid continues to slowly strengthen and may become a hurricane this afternoon, only the second hurricane of the 2013 season. The storm continued to drift on a slight north-northeast course this morning, however, models remain in reasonably good agreement on a north to northwest course and then westerly into the Mexican coast probably during the day Monday.

Central Alabama:
Great weather with a deep blue sky this afternoon. Temperatures were mainly in the 70s with the afternoon highs expected to be in the range of 79 to 82. Those morning lows sure felt good giving us that hint to the change of seasons. I do not expect to see the temperatures quite as low on Sunday morning, but it will still be a cool start to the day. Perhaps one more run at the 90-degree mark in the upcoming week.
