The extensive moderate to heavy rain that occurred overnight and early this morning had diminished and moved eastward. But a cold light rain and drizzle still persists in many areas.

Winter weather advisories have been discontinued.

A low pressure area was centered over SW Alabama. It pulled a warm front onshore and inland for a short distance. At 8 o’clock it was a balmy 65 in Mobile and Pensacola and 66 in Panama City. The clash of the warm/cold air has set off a line of moderate to heavy showers and even some thunderstorms that extends NE from near New Orleans to near Mobile and into SE Alabama.

The SPC (Storm Prediction Center) has outlooked a slight risk of severe thunderstorms from Extreme South Alabama and the south edge of Georgia down into Central Florida.

We will try to post some rainfall amounts later and some extra notes of what went on overnight.
