An all new edition of the ABC 33/40 Weather Xtreme video is available in the player on the right sidebar of the blog. You can subscribe to the Weather Xtreme video on iTunes by clicking here.

FINE FALL WEATHER: A very dry airmass is in place across Alabama this afternoon; temperatures are mostly in the low 70s with a good supply of sunshine.

Tonight should be the coolest night so far this season; we project early morning lows in the 46-52 degree range for most communities. Tomorrow will be another sun filled day with a high in the mid 70s.

REST OF THE WEEK: Dry air stays in place, so we project sunny mild days and clear cool nights Wednesday through Friday with just a gradual day to day warming trend. We should be close to 80 by Friday; lows will be mostly in the 50s.

THE ALABAMA WEEKEND: Still looks great. Sunny on Saturday with a high at or just over 80, a partly sunny sky Sunday. A weakening front will approach Northwest Alabama Sunday evening, but for now it looks like showers will stay northwest of here, and we will leave the forecast dry.

It could very well be the middle part of next week before a decent chance of rain returns to the Alabama.

TROPICS: A disturbance in the East Atlantic has a chance to become Tropical Storm Lorenzo in coming days, but this will be gaining latitude and should not be an issue for any land mass anytime soon. See the Weather Xtreme video for the maps, graphics, and details.

SHRIMP FESTIVAL WEEKEND: The National Shrimp Festival this weekend at Gulf Shores will feature fantastic weather with mostly sunny days and fair nights; in fact we don’t expect any rain on the central Gulf Coast for the next five to seven days. Highs will be around 80, with lows in the 60s this weekend.

WEATHER BRAINS: Don’t forget you can listen to our weekly 90 minute netcast anytime on the web, or on iTunes. This is the show all about weather featuring many familiar voices, including our meteorologists here at ABC 33/40. We will produce this week’s show tonight at 8:30p CT… watch it on “James Spann 24/7”, our cable channel, or on the web here.
