A Mild Evening

| October 12, 2013 @ 5:26 pm

It has been another very mild and dry fall day for Alabama and much of the Southeast. Many locations across the state saw mostly sunny skies which allowed for those afternoon highs to make it into the lower and mid 80s. Those warm temperatures continue this evening as most everyone is still seeing temperatures in the upper 70s and low 80s.

Heading through this evening and into the overnight hours, with clear skies and calm winds, radiational cooling will be in full affect and temperatures should fall fairly fast once the sunsets. Most everyone will settle to around that 60 degree mark, with upper 50s for most areas by daybreak tomorrow. As we have seen most of the week, expect areas of patchy dense fog to develop around sunrise and this fog should begin to mix out once the sun rises in the morning and we get surface heating. The terrific fall weather will hang around for you Sunday and into the first couple of days of the new work week.
