Rainfall Totals from October

| November 2, 2013 @ 1:06 pm

On average, the month of October is the driest month for Alabama. Below is a graphic completed by the NWS Office in Birmingham that shows the rainfall totals across the state for the entire month of October.

The totals show that is was a very dry month, especially when you compare it to all the other months. Most locations across the state averaged one to two inches of rainfall. Many areas across north-central portions as well as the lower third of the state saw less than an inch of rain for the entire month.

Largest rainfall total across the state appears to be nearly three and half inches in southern Mobile County. Closer to us in central Alabama, it looks as though southern portions of Sumter County and locations in eastern Chilton and western Coosa Counties received the most rain in October.
