It was another cold start to the day across Central Alabama as most locations were in the 20s. Heading through the morning, the mostly sunny sky has allowed all of us to warm up nicely. This midday, all locations in the northern half of Alabama have made it into the 40s, and should make it into the 50s during the afternoon. Not a bad way to end the week.

We are beginning to see clouds increasing to our south, out of head of a new area of low pressure that is developing in the Gulf of Mexico. Those clouds will be heading north throughout the afternoon and you will notice them heading into the evening hours. The clouds will help keep out overnight lows about ten degrees warmer than they were last night.

For tomorrow, the clouds will not allow us to warm up much, and highs should only be in the 40s. By the afternoon, the rain associated with the area of low pressure will overspread the state and we will see a soaking rain. Make sure you enjoy the sunny and pleasant weather today as we will have several days of unsettled weather.
