LATE REPORT FROM NORTHWEST ALABAMA
Just started sleeting in Hackleburg. Haleyville reported 39F a few minutes ago. So the precip is freezing in a very cold layer above the surface and hitting the ground as ice. Perhaps that means we won’t see much freezing rain. But any rain on the roads and sidewalks will freeze quickly. And bridges and overpasses and other raised surfaces will freeze quicker.

BE PREPARED
Be ready for the cold. Remember people, pets, pipes and plants. Then think your car’s radiator. And if you have to drive tonight or early tomorrow, get some good road reports from your location to your destination.

We will have frequent updates throughout the night here.
