Potential Flooding in Oxford…2.10 in 55 Minutes
Daniel…Our Skywatcher in Oxford…reports 2.10 inches of rain in 55 minutes this afternoon. Some reports of flooding starting to come in.
Powerful thunderstorms now from south of Riverside to north of Talladega back to Oxford. Dumping incredible amonts of rain. Lots of lightning…and could produce damaging winds also. Could become severe. Talladega will get torrential rains.
Strong storms in southern Chilton County curving back into Coosa County.
Storms increasing south of Gadsden…will move into northern Calhoun and southern Cherokee.
More storms in southern Walker, southern Cullman and Northern Jefferson County. More rain moving in on downtown Birmingham.
0.75 inches of rain here in Trussville with moderate rain continuing.
Storms now forming over southern Lamar and Fayette Counties. Will move south to affect parts of West Alabama that haven;t seen rain so far, including Tuscaloosa. Still 91F at TCL, they had been as high as 96F earlier.
Cold fonrt has passed Haleyville.
