Severe Thunderstorm Warning Lamar County until 9:45 PM

A very dangerous thunderstorm is moving out of eastern Mississippi and into western Alabama. The storm has a history of producing damaging winds as it has a bow echo. This bow can produce winds up to 70 mph and also could spin up a quick tornado.

The storm will be impacting all of Lamar County, including U.S. 278 as well as State highways 17 & 18. Kennedy, Millport, Sulligent, Crossville and Vernon will be impacted by this storm.

LAMAR COUNTY IN WEST CENTRAL ALABAMA…

* UNTIL 945 PM CST

* AT 849 PM CST…THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE INDICATED A LINE OF
SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAPABLE OF PRODUCING QUARTER SIZE HAIL…AND
DAMAGING WINDS IN EXCESS OF 60 MPH. THESE STORMS WERE LOCATED
ALONG A LINE EXTENDING FROM 8 MILES SOUTH OF ABERDEEN TO 5 MILES
SOUTHWEST OF COLUMBUS AFB TO 14 MILES SOUTHWEST OF COLUMBUS…AND
MOVING EAST AT 45 MPH.

* LOCATIONS IMPACTED INCLUDE…
VERNON…SULLIGENT…MILLPORT…BEDFORD…LAMAR COUNTY AIRPORT…
DETROIT…CREWS AND BLOOMING GROVE.
