Possible Tornado Touch Down around Midnight near Ft. Payne.

Quite a few reports coming from DeKalb County this morning of a possible tornado touch down on the north side of Ft. Payne.

Report from county manager: at 12:27 AM CST — truck trailer reported blown on top of an industrial building in north fort payne at the intersection of cr 137 and exit 224 on i-59. damage also reported at an apartment complex northeast of this location. roof blown off and 25-30 people displaced. no injuries reported.

Reports of multiple trucks damaged at 4811 Gault Ave., near Fort Payne High School. Power is out in N. Fort Payne.

The Ft. Payne Fire Department is reporting numerous trees and power lines down in the area.

A lot of uncertainty with this situation, but it appears there was damage during a thunderstorm that was tornado warned at the time. We have even seen reports of some injuries. This is certainly a story we are going to have to pay attention to the next few hours. We may have to wait until the daylight hours before know all the details.
