Showers and Storms Moving In

The leading edge of the showers and storms is moving into Alabama a little faster than expected. Rain with a few rumbles of thunder are already affecting Lamar and Marion counties. Over the next few hours, the area of showers and storms over Mississippi and Louisiana will continue to push into and through Alabama.

There were a few severe storms over northern Mississippi earlier tonight, but things have since calmed down. We are not expecting any threat from severe weather tonight in Central Alabama. We do expect a soaking rain for many areas, and certainly some great sleeping weather. Once it starts raining at your location, it will last for several hours.
