Alabama 811 | Know What's Below.

Warm Day Yesterday

| April 1, 2014 @ 1:07 pm

As I noted in a post on March 30th, our long streak of days below 80 degrees might end this week. The Birmingham Shuttlesworth Airport recorded an official high of 78 Monday, so the streak is still in tact. GFS MOS guidance prints out 79 for the high today and 83 on Wednesday, so the streak may survive another couple of days. But it was a warm day across Central Alabama and a few spots actually high 80 degrees yesterday.

Among those National Weather Service cooperative observing stations recording a high of 80 or above were Clayton, Sylacauga, Helena, Childersburg, Crudup, Dearmanville, Gaylesville, Hackneyville, Heflin, Oak Grove, Rockford, and Wadley.

After the chilly start to 2014, the warm weather feels good, but I’m sure it won’t be too long before I’ll start griping about the heat!!
