Storms are growing over Birmingham at this hour and have prompted a Significant Weather Alert.
They are generally near and northeast of downtown and are drifting northeast.
Brief heavy rain, deadly lightning and some gusty winds will accompany them.

Tarrant PD reporting Hwy 79 NB down to 1 lane due to street flooding at 3:43.
An Areal Flood Advisory has been issued for this area. One inch already fell in Tarrant and another 1 to 2 inches could occur.
