Fayette Damage/Flooding

| July 31, 2008 @ 6:16 pm | Reply

We have a report through David, one of our skywatchers in Berry, that the Fayette FD is reporting multiple trees down in Fayette as well as powerlines. The NWS says they have the same report along with a report of flooding.

***NWS confirms through Fayette 911 at 6:32 p.m. that there are multiple wind damage reports from Fayette***

A flood advisory has just been issued for Marion, Lamar and Fayette Counties.

Storms over Lamar and Fayette Counties are dumping tremendous rains and lots of lightning. They certainly are capable of damaging winds.

And very strong storms over Marion County south of Hamilton are dropping south southeastward. We could see cell mergers over Fayette County, which could further enhance the torrential rains.
