The long lived storm that has produced tornado damage across parts of southern Mississippi, including numerous injuries, is approaching Sumter County, Alabama at this hour. The tornadic circulation is less than 15 minutes away from Cuba, AL in Sumter County.

The NWS in Birmingham has posted a severe thunderstorm warning for Sumter County.

Some of the communities that will be impacted include York, Livingston including the University of West Alabama.

* AT 421 PM CST…THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE INDICATED A LINE OF
SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAPABLE OF PRODUCING DAMAGING WINDS IN EXCESS
OF 60 MPH. THESE STORMS WERE LOCATED ALONG A LINE EXTENDING FROM
14 MILES WEST OF CUBA TO 17 MILES WEST OF KINTERBISH TO 23 MILES
NORTH OF GRETNA…AND MOVING NORTHEAST AT 55 MPH.
