In The Heat of the Afternoon
Some widely spaced thunderstorms were developing in Alabama this afternoon, mostly over the central and south part of the state. Most of them were from about Perry, Montgomery and Lee Counties southward.
Mind you, they were not especially numerous and not extremely large storms, but since they have started forming, some of them may grow quickly. Some of the main storms were just north and NW of Montgomery and west of Auburn and Opelika in Lee County.
Over North Alabama, from about Tuscaloosa and Talladega northward, there were very few storms, but there will be some additional development for the remainder of this afternoon and this evening. A few could be strong.
