Chicago Weather Near Perfect

Air travel is marvelous! It’s hard for this old mind to conceive that I was in Birmingham at 2 pm and by 4 pm I was landing in Chicago’s Midway Airport.

The weather was beautiful on the flight up here with a few cumulus clouds with only a little vertical extent. Naturally, I took a bunch of pictures out the window of my Southwest plane. The pilot said it was 75 degrees when we landed.

It took only 8 minutes for the bag to arrive at the baggage claim – almost the amount of time it took me to get from my gate to the baggage claim area. A short walk to the Chicago train terminal and I was whisking through the wonderful public transportation to meet my daughter near the Royal George Theater. She is the stage manager for “Late Night Catechism” which is a one-woman show where she portrays a nun and the audience is her class.

Field Museum, air show, “Black Knight” at the iMax, spending some time at the Apple Store on Michigan Avenue, and chilling with my daughter are all on the agenda for my visit. I’ll need to come home to get some rest!!!

And hopefully, IF I get a response from my email, I will get a chance to chat with Tom Skilling at some point during the trip.

The Birmingham and Chicago forecasts are about 10 degrees apart with highs around 80 and lows around 58 on tap here.
