Sunday Afternoon Update

| May 31, 2015 @ 2:29 pm

Today we have seen more active weather across the state compared to the last few days. During the late morning hours, showers and storms started developing throughout the state and these continue to develop and lift towards the northeast. At this time, no storms in Alabama are severe, but that could change through the afternoon and into the evening. Storms today could pack a punch with lots of lightning, gusty winds, intense rainfall, and even some hail will be possible. Keep in mind, the SPC does have the entire state of Alabama under a “Marginal Risk” for severe weather today. Stay weather aware the rest of today!

Looking at the radar this afternoon shows scattered showers and storms across the state. These storms are pulsing up and down in intensity as they continue to move towards the northeast. We have seen most of the activity move out of the state, but more storms will develop and we are watching additional showers and storms to the west in Mississippi as they will be drifting east and will likely be moving into portions of Alabama later today.
