Storms Approaching Alabama

| May 31, 2015 @ 4:36 pm

We have seen a lull in the action across Central Alabama through the early afternoon hours. However, we are beginning to see storms fire up to the south. Additionally, numerous showers and storms are ongoing across Mississippi and these storms continue to move east. This activity will be approaching the state line within the next hour or so and should be approaching the Interstate 65 corridor later this evening.

At this time, there are currently no severe storms in the state of Alabama, but that could change the next few hours. There have been numerous warnings in neighboring states and we could see a few severe storms in Alabama. Nevertheless, with today’s convection, there will be frequent lightning, intense rainfall, gusty winds, and even the threat for some hail. For the next several hours, make sure you stay weather aware as storms make their way into Central Alabama.
