Tall Storm

The severe thunderstorm in the Birmingham Metro were over 50,000 feet tall, easily reaching the top of the troposphere. The red area in the image shows the highest cloud tops.

They produced wind damage on Lawrence Street in Irondale, where a home collapsed when a tree fell on it, trapping five kids and one adult.

Heavy equipment had to be called in. Here is a picture via @EdwardBurch.
