A band of clouds across Central Alabama has been limiting sunshine in spots across the area on this first Sunday of the new year. The clouds have been eroding slowly as the band moves slowly southward.

Temperatures are in the grudgingly creeping into the lower 50s.

The clouds are thinning, allowing more sun to peek through.

An upper level disturbance over Arkansas is sliding east. This disturbance will allow a cold front to push through the area tomorrow, which will allow temperatures to fall back into the 40s tomorrow and Tuesday.

The next chance of rain will come on Thursday.
