Nice Preview Of Spring

| February 19, 2016 @ 6:02 am

BLUE SKY AND SUNSHINE: If you enjoyed the weather yesterday, you should love it today. Sunshine in full supply, and a high this afternoon between 67 and 70 degrees…. almost ten degrees above the average high of 60 for February 19.

THE ALABAMA WEEKEND: Not too much change tomorrow; a mix of sun and clouds with a high back in that 67-70 degree range. We will mention an outside risk of a shower tomorrow afternoon for the northern quarter of the state thanks to a weak front approaching from the north.

Sunday will feature a generally cloudy sky, and we will need to mention some risk of showers, mostly Sunday afternoon into Sunday night, over North and Central Alabama as the front sags southward. The weather stays mild with a high in the upper 60s to near 70.

NEXT WEEK: A wave of low pressure forms along the front, and we still expect a good soaking Monday, and into at least part of the day Tuesday. Still some model inconsistency in the placement of the heaviest rain axis and the timing of the rain, but most North/Central Alabama communities should see 1 to 2 inches Monday and Tuesday. Most likely, not enough rain for any flooding, and we don’t expect any severe weather, although some thunder is possible.

Wednesday should feature a sky that gradually clears along with a high in the 50s, and the weather will be dry Thursday and Friday with a good supply of sunshine both days and a high close to 60. See the Weather Xtreme video for maps, graphics, and more details.
