A new tornado watch will be issued for Central Alabama in the next few minutes.

Tornado warned storms over southeastern Mississippi from Laurel to Wiggins back to near Slidell in Louisiana will rotate northeastward into Central Alabama over the next 1-2 hours.

Wind fields are increasingly strong at all levels of the atmosphere, which is producing all kinds of strong wind shear. Instabilities are marginal, but strong low level winds will continue to transport warm, moist air northward from the Gulf, which will offset the loss of stability from the heating of the day.

The most dangerous area will be in a 60-80 mile corridor along and just east of a line from Butler to Linden to Marion to Birmingham. A couple of tornadoes could form in well formed supercells that will be moving along this track.
