RADAR CHECK: We have showers over the Tennessee Valley of North Alabama this afternoon, and also near the Gulf Coast. The rest of the state is under a mostly cloudy sky, although there is some filtered sunshine across the central counties where temperatures have soared into the 70-75 degree range. Showers are possible tonight as a surface front approaches.
COLD FRONT APPROACHING: The sky is mostly cloudy across Alabama this afternoon with temperatures generally in the low to mid 70s. We will maintain the chance of a few scattered showers tonight as a cold front passes thorough the state, but with limited moisture and dynamic support, rain amounts will be under 1/10 of an inch for most places.
COLD FRONT ON THE WAY: Clouds will increase across Alabama today, and we will mention a chance of showers for the northwest counties this afternoon, and statewide tonight ahead of a cold front. Moisture is limited, and rain amounts will be generally under one tenth of an inch. Showers will end after midnight, and a surge of dry air pushes into the state for the weekend.
RADAR CHECK: We have scattered areas of light rain across Alabama early this morning… otherwise the sky is cloudy with temperatures in the 66-72 degree range. Periods of light rain are possible through early tonight; this won’t be an especially beneficial rain event with most communities seeing only one-tenth of an inch or less.
RADAR CHECK: We have a few patches of light rain on radar over the Tennessee Valley of North Alabama this afternoon, otherwise the sky is mostly cloudy across the state with temperatures in the 77-87 degree range.
RADAR CHECK: Scattered showers and storms are slowly increasing across Alabama this afternoon… some of the heaviest rain is falling across parts of Pickens, Tuscaloosa, and Bibb counties in West Alabama as I write this. The storms are not severe, but they are producing heavy rain and some lightning. Away from the storms, the sky is partly sunny with temperatures mostly in the 80s.
RADAR CHECK: Showers continue to develop over Alabama this afternoon… showers are more numerous east of I-65. The sky is generally cloudy with temperatures in the 77-84 degree range.
OCCASIONAL SHOWERS: The sky will be mostly cloudy across Alabama through tomorrow with occasional showers thanks to a surface trough nearby. The higher coverage of rain will be over the eastern half of the state, and there could be a rumble of thunder in spots. The rain won’t be continuous, and it won’t rain everywhere, but if you have something planned outdoors just be ready for a shower at any time.
RADAR CHECK: We have widely scattered showers in progress across Alabama this afternoon with temperatures in the 77-84 degree range for most of the state. We do note Mobile and Dothan have reached the 90 degree mark. Isolated showers remain possible tonight, otherwise the sky will be mostly cloudy with a low between 65 and 72 degrees.
RADAR CHECK: A few scattered showers are moving into the western half of Alabama early this morning with temperatures at daybreak ranging from the low 60s over the Tennessee Valley to the mid 70s near the coast. Look for a mix of sun and clouds today with potential for a few scattered showers… highs will be in the mid 80s in most locations.
RADAR CHECK: Scattered showers and thunderstorms continue to increase across Alabama this afternoon ahead of a cold front near the Shoals. We note SPC has introduced a “marginal risk” (level 1/5) of severe thunderstorms for the northeast corner of the state tonight… heavier storms there could produce strong winds this evening.
COLD FRONT APPROACHING: We note a few small, isolated showers on radar early this morning, but showers and storms will become more numerous this afternoon and tonight as a cold front pushes through the state. The chance of any given location seeing rain for the next 24 hours is 50/60 percent, and we expect a high today in the 87-91 degree range with a mix of sun and clouds.
SOME RAIN AROUND TODAY: An upper low will bring showers and thunderstorms back to Alabama today. It won’t rain everywhere, and it won’t rain all day, but showers and storms will around through early tonight. The chance of any one location seeing rain is 50-60 percent, and the high will be in the low to mid 80s for most communities.
RADAR CHECK: Scattered showers and storms have formed across parts oF Central Alabama this afternoon; they are moving to the southeast and are producing brief heavy rain and gusty winds. Elsewhere, the sky is partly too mostly sunny with temperatures mostly in the mid to upper 80s. Showers will fade after sunset.
