RADAR CHECK: A large mass of rain with embedded thunderstorms is over Central Alabama this afternoon… it will continue to push into the southeast part of the state over the next few hours. There is a break in the rain for the northern counties, but one more line of showers and storms will roll through tonight ahead of a cold front.

RADAR CHECK: Rain is fairly widespread early this morning over parts of North and West Alabama as an unsettled, wet pattern persists. A flood watch is in effect today for areas north of a line from Reform to Clanton to Opelika, roughly the northern half of the state. Showers are possible over South Alabama as well this afternoon, but they should be fewer in number there.

UNSETTLED PATTERN CONTINUES: We have scattered showers early this morning over the southern half of Alabama… otherwise the sky is mostly cloudy as the day begins with temperatures in the low 70s. Clouds will hang tough over much of the state, and we project another day with scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms. We note a flash flood watch is in effect for parts of West and Southwest Alabama… from near Livingston, Greensboro, and Marion south to Mobile and Baldwin counties.

SOAKED: Radar suggests parts of West and Southwest Alabama have received 5-10 inches of rain since midnight, and flash flood warnings are in effect for parts of Choctaw, Clarke, Washington, and Wilcox counties at mid-afternoon. Showers are more scattered in nature over the rest of the state… the sky is mostly cloudy with temperatures in the 75-80 degree range for most communities.

RADAR CHECK: We have a large mass of rain across parts of West, Central and South Alabama early this morning as the unsettled pattern continues across the state. The sky will be generally cloudy again today with periods of rain, most widespread south of I-20. Showers will be more scattered in nature over the northern third of the state, and mostly during the afternoon hours. The high today will be close to 80 degrees, which is ten degrees below average for the date.

A very moist, tropical airmass continues to cover the Deep South today, and we expect occasional showers and thunderstorms with a high between 77 and 82 degrees.
