RADAR CHECK: A large mass of rain with embedded thunderstorms is over Central Alabama this afternoon… it will continue to push into the southeast part of the state over the next few hours. There is a break in the rain for the northern counties, but one more line of showers and storms will roll through tonight ahead of a cold front.
RADAR CHECK: Rain is fairly widespread early this morning over parts of North and West Alabama as an unsettled, wet pattern persists. A flood watch is in effect today for areas north of a line from Reform to Clanton to Opelika, roughly the northern half of the state. Showers are possible over South Alabama as well this afternoon, but they should be fewer in number there.
RADAR CHECK: Again today we have scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms across Alabama. Flash flood warnings remain in effect for the Montgomery area at mid-afternoon… flash flood warnings were also required for parts of Mobile and Baldwin counties earlier this morning.
UNSETTLED PATTERN CONTINUES: We have scattered showers early this morning over the southern half of Alabama… otherwise the sky is mostly cloudy as the day begins with temperatures in the low 70s. Clouds will hang tough over much of the state, and we project another day with scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms. We note a flash flood watch is in effect for parts of West and Southwest Alabama… from near Livingston, Greensboro, and Marion south to Mobile and Baldwin counties.
SOAKED: Radar suggests parts of West and Southwest Alabama have received 5-10 inches of rain since midnight, and flash flood warnings are in effect for parts of Choctaw, Clarke, Washington, and Wilcox counties at mid-afternoon. Showers are more scattered in nature over the rest of the state… the sky is mostly cloudy with temperatures in the 75-80 degree range for most communities.
RADAR CHECK: We have a large mass of rain across parts of West, Central and South Alabama early this morning as the unsettled pattern continues across the state. The sky will be generally cloudy again today with periods of rain, most widespread south of I-20. Showers will be more scattered in nature over the northern third of the state, and mostly during the afternoon hours. The high today will be close to 80 degrees, which is ten degrees below average for the date.

The sky is mostly cloudy, and temperatures are mostly in the low 80s. Periods of rain will continue tonight across much of the state as the unsettled pattern continues.
UNSETTLED WEATHER PATTERN CONTINUES: Large areas of rain are moving through Central Alabama early this morning… we also note rain falling over the southern half of Mobile and Baldwin counties around daybreak. The weather won’t change much across Alabama through tomorrow… generally cloudy conditions with periods of rain and some thunder.
RADAR CHECK: Large areas of light to moderate rain are moving across Alabama this afternoon as the unsettled weather pattern continues across the state. Because of clouds and showers, temperatures have been holding in the 70s in many areas; the average high for Birmingham on August 22 is 90. Periods of rain will continue statewide tonight with some thunder in a few spots.
RADAR CHECK: Large areas of rain are pushing into West Alabama early this morning, and an unsettled pattern will continue across the state today with a mostly cloudy sky along with periods of rain. Some thunder is possible, but no severe storms are expected, and temperatures will hold in the 70s across much of the state today due to the clouds and rain. The average high for Birmingham on August 22 is 90.
RADAR CHECK: Rain continues this afternoon in areas generally east of a line from Huntsville to Mobile. Some showers are producing heavy rain and gusty winds, but the overall severe weather threat for the rest of the evening is very low due to the lack of surface based instability. The sky will clear from the west as dry air punches into the state.
RADAR CHECK: Scattered showers are in progress across Alabama early this morning in the tropical air… this will be another day with occasional showers and a few strong thunderstorms. SPC has much of the state (except the far west and northwest counties) in a “marginal risk” (level 1/5) of severe thunderstorms today; heavier storms will be capable of producing hail and gusty winds.
RADAR CHECK: A large mass of rain and storms is over West and Southwest Alabama early this morning in the tropical airmass that covers the Deep South. Unsettled weather continues today with occasional rain and a few strong thunderstorms… all 67 Alabama counties are in a “marginal risk” (level 1/5) of severe thunderstorms as defined by SPC. Heavier storms could produce hail and strong gusty winds, like recent days.
RADAR CHECK: A large mass of rain is moving northward through the western half of Alabama early this morning, otherwise it is a cloudy, humid morning with temperatures in the 65-70 degree range. A very moist, tropical airmass continues to cover the Deep South today, and we expect occasional showers and thunderstorms with a high between 77 and 82 degrees.
