At 745 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Town Creek, or 11 miles east of Muscle Shoals, moving northeast at 30 mph. Spotter reported a a lowering in this supercell.
Folks in the Whitehead, Anderson, Cedar Grove, Cherry Grove, Ridgeway Mill, Good Springs, Cairo, and Lester should be in their safe shelter as this dangerous storm approaches.
At 736 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Rogersville, or 16 miles east of Muscle Shoals, moving northeast at 30 mph.
Scattered strong to severe thunderstorms have formed across the northern third of Alabama this afternoon. The strongest storm is south of Dutton in southern Jackson County. Intensifying storm near Langston will move northeast toward Section, Dutton, and Pisgah.
RADAR CHECK: We have a few isolated, small showers across Alabama this afternoon, otherwise the sky features a mix of sun and clouds with temperatures mostly in the 80s. Low 90s are being reported across the southeast counties of the state; Ozark is up to 93 degrees at mid-afternoon.
It is another very warm day with temperatures in the upper 80s and lower 90s and a few isolated storms are possible this afternoon, but most locations will remain dry.
LIKE SUMMER: We project a high in the 87-91 degree range across Alabama today with a mix of sun and clouds. A few isolated showers or storms could pop up this afternoon and early tonight, but many places will be dry.
At 748 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Ider, or 13 miles north of Fort Payne, moving east at 40 mph.
At 726 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Pisgah, or 12 miles east of Scottsboro, moving east at 25 mph.
