NOTE ABOUT THE M&M MAN
He loved M&Ms so much that he used to keep a large pack of them on his desk at the NWS Forecast Office at 11 West Oxmoor Road, Birmingham when he was the MIC (Meteorologist in Charge). He was also the person on national TV that used to do a 15-minute morning national weather briefing on PBS. I only got to work with him as my boss a short time before I retired but I really enjoyed it. His name is Gary Petti. He and his family now live just north of Tampa and he reports 76 this morning but they expect 60s the next two mornings! I mentioned on Twitter this morning that it has to be be below freezing before I reach for a jacket. He answered “You lie” and that he had seen me with no jacket in sub-freezing weather. Wonder where he heard that now famous expression recently? He loved M&Ms more than I did frosted brown sugar-cinnamon pop tarts and banana moon pies!
