High pressure has settled into the Deep South bringing a dry and stable air mass to the region. The dry weather is the story today, tomorrow, and Thursday as we are forecasting mostly sunny, pleasant afternoons with highs in the 60s.
We note, the sky is clearing across North Alabama, and as that drier air sinks south today, we should see a gradually clearing sky through the afternoon hours.

The new month is starting off very nice. After the morning freeze, we are seeing temperatures rebound into the lower 60s in many locations this afternoon under a sky full of sunshine. However, there are some upper-level clouds in the sky, giving us a milky, filtered sunshine look.

Big changes in the weather for Alabama this week as we go from the bitterly cold Arctic air to more of an early spring-like pattern with much warmer temperatures. We are seeing temperatures rise into the 50s this afternoon, followed by 60s tomorrow. For the rest of the week, expect highs to range from the upper 60s to mid 70s.
Hard Freeze Warnings are in effect for much of Alabama tonight and tomorrow night, and Wind Chill Advisory is in effect for at least the northern third of the state as wind chills could even fall below zero.
